I am a cybersecurity professional with 10 years of IT experience, currently serving as Cybersecurity Analyst at Osseo Area Schools, leading security initiatives across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. I am writing to express my interest in cybersecurity roles where technical depth, mission alignment, and a commitment to continuous growth are valued.
In my current role, I operate Microsoft Defender XDR, Red Canary MDR, Microsoft Entra ID, Google IAM, and Google Workspace daily. A full threat investigation was designed and executed using custom KQL queries to hunt Log4Shell across our environment, mapping every exposed device in full detail, building a prioritized remediation project, and driving every item to verified closure in collaboration with system administrators. A NIST CSF-guided governance framework, vendor risk management program, and technology risk register were also designed and implemented in collaboration with IT leadership, building structured, measurable security programs that continue to mature.
Beyond technical execution, a structured project management discipline, cross-functional collaboration skills, and a genuine passion for building security programs that protect people are brought to every engagement. Tabletop exercises have been designed and delivered in close collaboration with district leadership, incident response workflows developed, and cybersecurity awareness programs built for diverse stakeholder populations, including phishing simulations via Microsoft Attack Simulator and a full email security program covering filtering, quarantine triage, flagged email analysis, and remediation. Every security challenge is approached not as an isolated fix but as an opportunity to build something more resilient.
Industry certifications held include AWS Solutions Architect Associate and Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Developer Associate, CompTIA Cloud+ and Project+, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, and ITIL 4 Foundation, with CCSP and CISSP currently in progress. The journey started with an Associate of Science from Lake Superior College and foundational credentials including CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Linux Foundation, and Microsoft AZ-900. A B.S. in Cloud Computing was completed at WGU in July 2026, with a Master's in Cybersecurity currently in progress. A 6-month Cybersecurity Boot Camp and a 6-month Cloud Computing Bootcamp at the University of Minnesota were completed alongside full-time work, because this is the work of a lifetime learner, and in this field, learning and upskilling never stops.
