Career Goals
Where I Am Now
Currently serving as Cybersecurity Analyst at Osseo Area Schools, the focus is on owning and maturing the district's full security program across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. Daily work spans threat hunting, vulnerability management, identity and access management, detection engineering, incident response, and security governance. A NIST CSF-guided governance framework, risk register, and vendor risk tracking program continue to evolve, while Microsoft Defender XDR, Red Canary MDR, Entra ID, and Google IAM are actively operated to protect a multi-site organization.
Short-Term Goals
The immediate focus is on deepening technical expertise and advancing certifications to match and extend the scope of work already being performed. Specifically working toward completing CCSP and CISSP certifications, both currently in progress, expanding hands-on expertise in product security, application security, and secure software development lifecycle, deepening cloud security architecture skills across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments, growing scripting and automation capabilities in PowerShell, Python, and REST API integrations, contributing to threat modeling, penetration testing, and red and blue team exercises, and pursuing cybersecurity opportunities that match and extend the depth of work already being performed, with greater complexity, broader scope, and room to keep learning, growing, and contributing meaningfully to the organizations and people depending on that work.
Long-Term Goals
Over the long term, the focus is on continuing to grow as a deep technical practitioner in cybersecurity engineering, cloud security, and security architecture. The goal is to operate at an enterprise scale, designing and implementing resilient security solutions that protect organizations and the people who depend on them.
A Master's degree in Cybersecurity is currently in progress, deepening the foundation in advanced security concepts, research, and emerging threat landscapes. The long-term vision is simple: keep building, keep learning, and keep making a measurable difference through the work itself.
My Commitment to Continuous Learning
B.S. in Cloud Computing — Western Governors University, July 2026. Six months each in the Cybersecurity Boot Camp and Cloud Computing Bootcamp at the University of Minnesota, pursued alongside full-time work. Certifications earned across AWS, Azure, CompTIA, and ISC2. Hands-on projects spanning threat hunting, endpoint hardening, offensive security simulation, and security automation, built independently and in collaboration with peers. A personal cybersecurity home lab actively maintained for continuous practice across offensive and defensive security domains. Learning is not a goal. It is a practice.
